An Overdue Update

So at this rate we will be updating this blog once every 13 months...make sure to check up regularly. Let me give you the highlights:
Kelsey is in Nursing School and doing great, she is very smart and very nerdy. Today as we drove home she told me all about babies and their blood and hearts and how to keep them alive... Needless to say I didn't understand any of it but it is fun to hear how excited she gets about science. She is also babysitting/nannying part time for some friends from our small group and has just recently started doing some admin work for Westwoods, our church. Yeah, she is busy.

I on the other hand work from home and don't get out of my sweats most days until noonish. I am working with my dad for Sources of Strength, the suicide prevention organization that he started. I do a variety of tasks from maintaining our website (www.sourcesofstrength.org) and our Social Networks (find us on Facebook! :) to flying around the country and learning the ropes of how to develop the Sources of Strength program in schools and communities. I love what I do and the freedom my schedule offers. I am starting to think about grad school as well.

We got a beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog back in May! We adopted her from the BMD Rescue. She was a big, fat, sweet thing who weighed WAY too much so we put her on a diet and now she's a lean, mean sleeping machine! She is very sweet and very fun. She went in for an emergency surgery last week so we are still waiting to see if she will make a full recovery.

All in all we are loving life and loving marriage. It is so fun to get to do life every day with your best friend. God has been teaching us some life lessons as of late. Jewels had her surgery then Kelsey's car's rear differential went out, then my car died, then the truck we were borrowing died...we have been trying to keep a positive attitude and find the heart to laugh. We keep telling ourselves that these are rich people problems and we don't have room to complain when compared to the countless blessings we have in our lives, that includes all of you!

Hope you all are doing well. I will try to update this a bit more often but more likely than not I'll update it sometime in 2012.

Peace to you all,

Scott & Kelsey

P.S. I wanted to add some pictures to this post but it was taking way too long and I lost patience. I might get to it soon but I wouldn't count on it.

We found a place!

After hours of web searching, apartment calling, touring and the like Kelsey and I have finally found our first home! It is actually a condo that we are renting in Thornton, CO (a suburb north of Denver) It will be about 45 minutes from Greeley and is convenient to both major highways leading to UNC where Kelsey will be a nursing student next year (that is exciting news if you hadn't heard!) We are very excited to be closer to friends and family in the Denver area and much closer to our church.
I have moved almost all my things from Greeley and am now living in the apartment...it's a little boring without my new roommate there. Kelsey will slowly move her things down and will join me when we return from our honeymoon. Finding this place was a huge answer to prayer and a weight off of our shoulders. We are very excited about it having most of the amenities we were looking for, minus the pink paint that Kelsey's cousing Brady helped us take care of. I find myself spending time thinking about registries and paint swatches these days, I'm already so domesticated...scary.
Anyway just thought you all might be interested in a little update on our lives. Although I'm not sure that anyone really checks this blog. I'l try to upload some pictures of the new place soon. Hope all is well with all of you!
